Marshfield Man Sentenced for Threatening to Light his Girlfriend on Fire

-A Marshfield man has been sentenced for punching his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach and threatening to light her on fire.Back in September of last year, Tyler Ress, age 24, punched a 28-year-old pregnant Marshfield woman multiple times to try and make her miscarry. He then doused her in gasoline, threatening to light her on fire.
A three day trial was supposed to begin back in September, instead he entered a no contest plea to second-degree recklessly endangering safety, strangulation and suffocation and false imprisonment in a plea bargain in which four other charges were dismissed.
Ress, who?s already serving time in prison for unrelated charges from Marathon and Clark County, was sentenced to an additional six years in prison which will run consecutive to his current prison time. He will also be on four years of extended supervision after prison and must undergo domestic abuse counseling.
