25 Area Teachers Selected as Crystal Apple Finalists

(WDLB) -25 area teachers have been selected as finalists for this school year’s Crystal Apple Awards from the Marshfield Chamber’s Education Foundation.

The finalists were surprised by their principals, who visited their classrooms, to announce them as “teachers of Distinction”.  The list includes 13 Marshfield teachers. They are Taylor Varsho and Kathleen Mahoney of Marshfield High School, Danielle Wilke and Michele DeCandia from Marshfield Middle School, Brooke Altman of Nasonville Elementary, Amber Kropidlowski and Brittney King of Grant Elementary, Kristine Schwalbach of Lincoln School, Jena Walsh of Madison and DeAnn Steinwagner from Washington. The Marshfield group also includes Ruth Fleischmann from Columbus Catholic, Jessica Colloton from St. John’s and O-L-P, and Lindsay Meyer from Immanuel Lutheran.

Also named as Crystal Apple finalists on Wednesday were Ann Pankratz and Jennifer Wilke from Spencer, Amber Guldan and Mark Brost from Auburndale, Ryan Westaby of Granton, Brad Helsten of Greenwood, Randi Stanley and Daisy Werner of Neillsville, Kristie Bangart from St. Joseph’s in Stratford, and Alyssa Anderson and Jodi Moore from Pittsville.  The Marshfield Chamber received a record one-thousand-313 nominations for 347 different educators.  The finalists will be honored at a banquet May 5 at Hotel Marshfield.  Four of them will receive top honors as Crystal Apple Award winners, and one-thousand dollars.
