Neillsville City Council Discusses Hazardous Property
Monday, October 28th, 2013 -- 8:23 AM
-The Neillsville City Council discussed a piece of hazardous property at their meeting on Thursday.Back in April the home at 303 West 15th Street caught fire and was almost completely destroyed. Six months later, what remains of the home is still standing burnt and damaged.
A member of the council said that something needs to be done with the property because he continues to receive numerous complaints about it. The Public Works Department has also received many complaints.
The former owners of the home no longer own the property and new owners have bought the lot and what remains of the home on Craigslist, but they have done nothing with it since they purchased it. At this point, they are being cited once a week for the hazardous property.
The council and Public Works Department is going to speak with the city attorney about starting the process of a possible raze order.
