Public Works tops City of Neillsville Agenda
Saturday, October 26th, 2013 -- 8:07 AM
Public works items were the highlight of a fairly quiet evening at the Neillsville City Council meeting on Thursday. The usual amount of work was done in the city the past couple weeks including cleaning, maintenance, clearing storm drains, street sweeping and more. Other items include repairing a storm drain that washed out north of Cummins, all the paving is done and they crew continues to work on downtown street lighting.
The property at 108 W. 15th Street will be removed by the end of the week and the crew has started on leaf pick-up. They had some bugs to work out of their leaf vacuum and they started pick up on Grand Avenue Thursday and they are headed west. Dave Flynn did note that he doesn?t want flowers and garden waste mixed in with the leaves because the vacuum can?t pick that up. The flowers and waste should be bagged separately.
Also, an electronic recycling event has been setup for Friday, November 8th from 7:30am to 3pm at the city garage and the cost is the same as last year.
The new front end loader was delivered and the city has sent out notices for fuel bids. The last time the city did that was in April 2008 for a 3 year term.
