Thursday, October 24th, 2013 -- 9:13 AM
-A new poll says more than half of Wisconsinites support the new health care reform law, and two in three uninsured respondents said they planned to buy individual insurance through the government's online health exchange. The figures were released Wednesday in the latest Wisconsin Public Radio/St. Norbert survey. They represent slight improvements over responses in the group's Fall 2009 survey.
Overall, 54 percent of respondents said they favor the new law. That's up from 46 percent last year and 41 percent in 2010.
In 2009, 77 percent favored requiring insurance companies to cover everyone, regardless of pre-existing conditions. That number is now 81 percent.
The telephone survey of 400 people was conducted between Oct. 9 and Oct 21. The margin of error is plus or minus 5 percentage points.
