Greenwood School District's Enrollment Up for 2013-2014 School Year

-The Greenwood School District will receive a little less state aid this year.During the final Friday count for the district, Greenwood found out that their enrollment increased by 20 kids this year. However, the negative side to that is the fact that Greenwood will not receive the ?declining enrollment aid? that they have been receiving. Greenwood will take money from other areas of the budget to make up for that money.
The school board was unable to certify their tax levy, like all the other districts in the area, as Governor Walker continues to tweak the state budget. The district also approved the use of $1,000 from the athletic department for improvements to their baseball field.
In employment matters, the district approved several volunteers, offered a contract to Lyndsey Johnson for the Elementary Gifted and Talented Program, offered a contract to Dean Bogdonvich for a basketball coaching position and offered a contract to Steven Renfree for the One-Act Play and Forensics.
Greenwood will also have two Korean exchange students in 4th and 5th grade come January, they approved the Indian Headstart item which is done every year and they did more with their energy conservation program.
