Five students attended the annual Jackson County Tractor and Machinery Safety class at the Black River Falls High School June 15-17.

The diverse curriculum includes several guest speakers from the area. They included Durwood Amundson sharing accident stories; Sheriff Duane Waldera teaching about safe and legal operation of tractors on roadways; Deputy Kyle Nosbisch demonstrating first response and rescue basics and Chris Williams sharing information about older farm equipment.

Wood Sales and Service donated the use of a tractor and trailer for the driving component of the course. Course instructors were Mr. Brad Markhardt (Black River Falls Ag Ed Instructor), Ms. Jodi Meyer (Alma Center-Humbird-Merrillan Ag Ed Instructor), and Mr. Andrew Simon (Melrose-Mindoro Ag Ed Instructor).
