The Highground Holds Successful Bake Sale
Thursday, July 1st, 2021 -- 10:10 AM
From pecan pies to homemade dog bones, The Highground “Sweet Platoon” made sure there was a variety of baked goods to choose from at the annual spring bake sale.
With $1,682 raised from the sale of the scrumptious baked goods, The Highground is sincerely grateful for the returning bakers from the Pittsville American Legion Auxiliary and Augusta American Legion Auxiliary.
Joining the Sweet Platoon this year were porch greeters, staff at The Highground and a host of other individuals who displayed their goodies in cute, creative containers which made them irresistible to the passerby.
All proceeds from this year’s bake sale will be designated for improving Veteran experiences like the flight and landing of the Vietnam Era Huey which was brought to The Highground on May 22 for the Vietnam Veterans Reunion.
The pulse of the incoming Huey brings hope to Veterans who know that sound meant support, rescue and evacuation. Thank you goes out to everyone who purchased baked goods and for their continued support of The Highground and its mission to Honor, Educate and Heal.
For those who didn’t make it to the Spring Bake Sale, good news – The Highground’s Fall Bake Sale is scheduled for October 2, 2021. More information about The Highground, including current news and upcoming events, is available online at thehighground.us or by calling 715-743-4224.
