Sunday, October 20th, 2013 -- 8:38 AM
The Neillsville Finance Committee continues to hear reports from various departments as they prepare the 2014 budget. The committee heard a report from the Parks Department. For the most part the budget remained the same with minor increases and decreases.
The biggest difference was in the equipment line of the budget. The budget for 2014 jumped to $22,000 from $6,250 this year. The reason behind that is because the parks department is helping pay for half of the new front end loader with the cemetery department.
The committee also heard a report for the air operating and capital budgets. The airports budget increased to $25,060 for 2014 compared to 2013?s $24,874. The outlay remained the same at $5,000. They also discussed the airport?s project of reconstructing the airfield which comes to $1,256,000 with the city?s share at $57,030.
