Honoring Fallen Wisconsin Firefighters Today

-Governor Scott Walker ordered flags lowered to half-staff today as a mark of respect for Wisconsin firefighters who have given their lives in the line of duty.The tribute is in conjunction with the national remembrance ceremony, which occurred last week, honoring four fallen Wisconsin firefighters who died in 2012.
?Our fallen firefighters selflessly put the protection of others above their own well-being,? Governor Walker said. ?These men will never be forgotten, and their sacrifice is humbling. We?ll be proud to honor them this Saturday.?
The Wisconsin firefighters who will be honored are John Colbert of the Birchwood Fire Department who died April 6th, 2012, after responding to the fire station to handle radio communications during a call, Steven Fritz of the Rothschild Fire Department who died December 10th, 2012 from a heart attack after answering an alarm, Jamison Kampmeyer of the Colby Fire Department who died March 4, 2012, while fighting a fire at the Abbotsford Theatre when the roof collapsed on him and Philip Mortensen of the Brooklyn Fire & EMS Protection District who died December 22, 2012, after responding to a call.
