Parks and Rec Report at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard a report from a recent Parks and Recreation Board meeting at their Tuesday meeting.The board saw good participation in the summer programs. There were 22 teams that took part in the softball tournament, a lifeguard class was held, a new dance program was started and there were 40 kids out for flag football and 50 kids out for soccer.
It was also reported that the new toy was installed at Listeman Park, a new grill was installed at the upper pavilion in Schuster Park, all the brush had been cleared from the Frisbee Golf area, the soft landing areas were dug out in Tock Field and pea gravel was put in and a new shed was put up in cliffs Park for baseball equipment.
The board, for parks and recreation, also approved to present their 2014 budgets to the finance committee. The also discussed possible making changes to the funding request process for the 30% Room Tax, but that was left the same.
