Thursday, October 10th, 2013 -- 8:13 AM
-The Neillsville City Council heard a Public Works report at their meeting on Tuesday. The Director of Public Works, Dave Flynn, was absent from the meeting, but he left a detailed report. The usual amount of cleaning, and maintenance was done in the city and to the parks and cemetery.
Some other items of note that the works crew has done is removing the fountain from O?Neil Creek, they placed a new steel roof on the storage shed by the compost site, the final paving is set to happen this week, they're working on street lighting downtown and they placed treated plywood on the upper area of the salt storage shed.
Also, the city had a Department of Commerce inspector come through the building last week for 2 days. They had some minor issues to correct and they will take corrective action when they get the final report. In line with that, the shops have Chain Saw Safety training today at the city garage.
Also, the 514-518 Hewett Street building is complete and has been inspected and the owner of 14 court and 303 W. 15th Street are being cited for continuing nuisance violations. There is also some final work being done at 108 W. 15th Street.
Finally, Fall clean-up is scheduled for the last week of October and the city plans on having an electronic recycling event as well.
