-The Clark County Board of Supervisors heard the 2012 Annual Sheriff?s Report at their meeting on Thursday of last week. All in all, most items for revenue and expenditures stayed the same. For 2012, the Sheriff?s Department had $5,534,490.37 in expenditures, $468,310.80 in revenues and a total levy of $5,043,111.
That levy for 2012 is down slightly as they department originally proposed a levy of $5,061,382. It?s also close to a $100 decrease compared to 2011?s levy of $5,147,965.
Some other topics looked at included citations issued which were up for 2012 compared to 2011, but that is due to seatbelt citations, more specifically the Click-It or Ticket initiative.
The number of warrants received was up a lot for 2012 and the average jail population was down for 2012 and has decreased the past several years. The decrease in the jail population also contributed to the decrease in jail meal costs as well.
