-The Neillsville City Council heard several reports from various committees at their meeting last week as they prepare to put together the 2014 budget for the city. The Beautification Committee gave a time line on when they will put fall decorations and Christmas decorations up. The committee agreed to keep the decorations simple. They?re also looking into replacing some lights in the winter display if money allows and they've set up a meeting for and begun to talk about the flowers for next summer. Finally, the committee presented a budget of $1,700 which is the same as last year.
The Board of Cemetery Commissioners held a meeting as well. They clarified what kind of container people need to have for cremains. They also presented their budget for this year which sits at $86,342. That is a major increase over last year?s $69,437, but part of that is due to the Cemetery paying their part for a new skid steer.
A couple quotes were looked at for a new skid steer as well. After a trade-in value included with the price, the two skid steers looked at would come to $43,860 and $51,850.
