-The Neillsville City Council approved a couple room tax fund requests at their meeting on Tuesday.During a Tourism Committee Meeting held on September 18th, the Committee had two requests for the funds collected form the 70% Room Tax the city has in place. The money collected from that tax is used for Economic Development and Tourism items.
The Neillsville Area Chamber of Commerce requested $350 to help pay for the Autumn Harvest Celebration and The Highground requested $500 to help pay for highway signage.
Unfortunately, the committee only had $373.25 available as most funds were handed out in the Spring. In the end the committee decided to pay $175 to the Chamber and $175 to The Highground. The Common Council approved both of those items.
The council also approved a grant they received from the Department of Health Services worth $4,985. The money will go to the ambulance service.
