Jackson County Sheriff's Department Investigating Disappearance of Two Hixton Men

-The Jackson County Sheriff?s Department is investigating the mysterious disappearance of two Hixton men.On Monday the Jackson County Sheriff?s Office was contacted regarding a welfare check on a 57-year-old Brian Helgeson who had not been heard from in over a week. The family member that called also said they were worried about Helgeson?s son, 20-year-old Lars Helgeson. The family member said she drove to their home, but no answered the door and she claims she could see someone through the window, crouching down and trying not to be seen.
When the Jackson County authorities went to the home, no one was there and no foul play is suspected. In a series of interviews they did determine that Lars Helgeson is safe based on contact he had with friends. However, Lars Helgeson is being considered a person of interest in the investigation as he cannot be found and he?s made no effort to contact police. Reports also indicated that Lars may be mentally unstable and that he?s armed with two firearms. Lars may also be operating a stolen vehicle, a 1980 Chevy Suburban.
