Mosinee Teen Has Initial Appearance for Multi-County Crime Spree

-A Mosinee teen made an initial appearance in Taylor County Court on Tuesday for allegedly being involved in a multi-county crime spree.According to court records, Sawyer Wirkus, age 17, and another teen, Nick Nesbitt age 18, stole two vehicles, attempted to steal two more, stole a gun and burglarized booth a cabin and a shed in Wood, Taylor and Marathon Counties.
Wirkus has eight different charges filed against him including burglary with a dangerous weapon, theft and criminal damage to property. He had a $5,000 signature bond set against him and he did enter a plea of not guilty to the misdemeanor charges.
Wirkus? accomplice, Nicholas Nesbitt made his initial appearance two weeks ago. He's charged with eight counts including burglary with a dangerous weapon, theft and criminal damage to property. He's free on a $5,000 signature bond.
