Thursday, September 12th, 2013 -- 11:17 AM

-A 17-year-old has been officially charged for his part in the attempted robbery of a 96-year-old Marshfield Store Owner.

In July, the Marshfield Police department arrested Cordell Ellingson, age 17, and a 13-year-old juvenile involved in the attempted robbery.

A couple months ago, the 13-year-old entered Wolf?s Grocery in Marshfield wearing a mask, holding a pocket knife and demanded money after being encouraged by the 17-year-old to do so. Margie Wolf, the 96-year-old owner, refused to give him any money and he ran.

Ellingson is being charged with contributing to the delinquency of minor since he encouraged the boy to commit the robbery. The 13-year-old is also expected to be charged with attempted armed robbery, but due to his age, his name will not be released.

The motive behind the robbery was to get money to pay for gas so they could drive their truck around.

Margie?s story received both local and national media attention.
