-A Marshfield man was sentenced to two years of probation by a federal judge on Tuesday.Randy Drexler, age 57, was arrested here in Clark County back in October when he attempted to rob a Frito Lay warehouse in Dorchester.
After the burglary attempt, police searched his home and found several guns in a locked cabinet. Drexler is not allowed to have firearms due to a 1994 misdemeanor conviction for domestic battery.
Drexler had told authorities that he wasn?t aware that it was illegal for him to have firearms due to Congress passing the gun ban in 1996. However, Drexler pleaded guilty to the charge in June.
Judge Lynn Adelman didn?t believe that Drexler didn?t know he couldn?t have a firearm.
Drexler not only faces charges here in Clark County, but he also faces charges in Wood County for allegedly threatening his ex-girlfriend with a firearm. Drexler faces strangulation, false imprisonment and domestic abuse charges in Wood County Circuit Court stemming from incidents with his ex-girlfriend.
