New Casino Divides Wisconsin Tribes

-The Menominee Nation has been pushing for an off-reservation casino in Kenosha for more than 20 years. The tribe overcame federal rejection of its plan and opposition from the Forest County Potawatomi to score a significant victory this month when the U.S. Department of the Interior approved the $800 million project.
But tribal members still face another significant hurdle - they need Republican Gov. Scott Walker to sign off.
The governor has said he would consider approving the casino only if there's no net increase in gambling, the community supports it and the state's 10 other tribes approve.
Walker's requirements are already creating rifts among the tribes as they look to protect their share of the gambling market from competition.
