-The Greenwood School Board approved several new hires during their meeting on Monday. They approved Kristin Wojner as the 3rd grade teacher and they also approved a long list of volunteers.
Two mentor positions were also approved. Lyndsey Meissner and Michelle Heiser will be helping out in different areas at the district.
The also approved the resignation of Mrs. Becker. She has worked with the district for 17 years, but she has accepted a position over in Colby where her children currently attend. Superintendent at Greenwood, Jennifer Vogler, said that Mrs. Becker, ?will be missed.?
The board also approved the mentor handbook and the fitness coordination rules. Also, Miss Vogler mentioned that the district doesn?t have any items on sale at the moment, but there will be items in the next newsletter that will be sold to the highest bidder.
The district reviewed what was discussed during a data retreat that was attended. They would like to make improvements in the areas of reading, language and math.
Finally, Miss Vogler hinted at Greenwood?s score on the state's new report card system. She couldn?t tell me what the score was at this time, but she did say that Greenwood ?did very well? and she?s ?very proud of the district?s progress.?
