July Unemployment Drops in Wisconsin

-Unemployment rates decreased in most Wisconsin counties and cities in July.The state Department of Workforce Development reported Wednesday that rates dropped or remained the same in 29 of Wisconsin's 32 largest cities.
Racine has the highest unemployment rate at 12.3 percent. Beloit is second at 11.2 percent followed by Milwaukee at 10.6 percent.
Unemployment went down or remained unchanged in 68 of 72 counties between June and July. Menominee County had the highest at 16.7 percent followed by Iron County at 11.2 percent.
The statewide unemployment rate was 6.8 percent in July, less than the national rate of 7.4 percent.
Here in Clark County the unemployment rate was 6.3% for July, compared to 6.5% in June and compared to 6.8% in July of 2012. That puts the county a full percentage point below the national average and half a percentage point below the state average.
