Wednesday, August 21st, 2013 -- 9:20 AM
-Clark County is one of several counties under a ?High? fire danger category. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources listed several Wisconsin counties as ?High? regarding fire danger and they include Chippewa, Dunn, Peppin, Clark and others. There are counties further west and northwest that are also under ?High? fire danger.
The DNR says people should be very careful when burning anything outdoors. Even with the heat and lack of water, burning with a permit is still allowed right now. However, if you need to burn, the DNR suggests you wait and see if we get some heavy rain before doing it.
The lack of rain has also been tough on farmers and gardeners. The DNR recommends that if you water plants, you should do it in the morning and evening in order to keep more water in the ground.
