-State leaders are hearing from the public in a series on town hall meetings regarding farm equipment on the roads. One of these meetings was held in Stratford on Tuesday evening. Transportation officials say Wisconsin roadways are being damaged by farmer?s heavy equipment and they want to put limits on the equipment to help protect the roads.
Many farmers feel it will hurt their business.
Some ideas thrown out by officials included limiting the weight, height and length.
State leaders plan to eventually submit a list of final recommendations to the state legislature after the meetings are over.
Three more meetings are scheduled in the next few weeks; however they may add one more because of the large number of people attending the meetings.
