-Memorial Medical Center as well as local residents will soon say good-bye to physician assistant, Don Hayward as he?ll be retiring on August 29th.On September 13th, Don Hayward would be celebrating his 38th year at MMC.
"I graduated from the Marshfield Clinic program in 1976 and shortly after I started here. On September 13th I would start my 38th year, but I'm retiring on August 29th. We're moving to Neenah where we have our home."
When I asked Don what he was going to miss at MMC, his answer was without hesitation.
"The people. I've enjoyed the years I work here. There have been good days and bad days, like anything. I'm going to miss the people that I've worked with and the patients and I'm very surprised how many are saying they're going to miss me. Which is nice."
Don has some relaxing plans for his retirement including golf, some house work and spending time with his family.
"I've appreciated the time my family has been here. It's been great raising our family. They've treated us very well and I'm going to miss that."
Don?s kindness, skill, patience and humor will surely be missed at Memorial Medical Center, but they wish him well in his retirement.
