-The public works report started out the Neillsville City Council Meeting on Tuesday. The usual amount of work was done in the city including cleaning, mowing and maintenance of the parks and cemetery. The public works crew also patched pot holes, opened storm drains, have been street sweeping, working on paving, cut grass at the landfills which is required by the DNR and more.
The Public Works Department has also had to deal with breakdowns regarding a lot of their equipment. Due to that, the equipment maintenance fund is already $5,000-$6,000 in the red with ?a lot of year left.?
The department is also in the preliminary stages of making a new, centralized bathroom in Schuster Park. Recently, the public works department had to make around $700 in repairs to the bathrooms in the park due to worn out fixtures and other problems. The department is starting to make some designs for a single bathroom, centrally located in the park that they will bring to the Parks and Rec. Committee.
They are also going to talk to Parks and Rec. about making some repairs to the pavilion in the park and they are hoping to get some grant money to complete that work, which won?t be cheap.
