Clark County Health Department's Next Vaccination Clinic This Thursday
Monday, March 1st, 2021 -- 10:14 AM
The next drive-through vaccination clinic for Clark County will be this Thursday, March 4th at the Owen-Withee-Curtiss Fire District from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
If you are unable to make your appointment due to inclement weather or personal reasons, or arrive after the clinic hours, you will not be guaranteed your dose.
You will have to schedule another appointment at a future Clark County Health Department (CCHD) COVID-19 vaccine clinic or reach out to your local healthcare provider, pharmacy, etc. At this time, vaccines are not available for the general public.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has announced that additional eligible groups (part of Phase 1B) will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine starting today. DHS states that vaccine providers should continue to reach the previously eligible groups.
Providers should make every effort to vaccinate people over 65 (and other previously eligible groups) before starting to vaccine the newly eligible groups. DHS has also indicated priority should be given to educators and regulated child care staff, when able.
For more information, please visit the DHS COVID-19: Am I Eligible for the Vaccine? Webpage. At this time, CCHD will be focusing on previous eligible groups. In addition, vaccines will be provided to educators and regulated child care providers within Clark County only.
The CCHD will not be offering COVID-19 vaccinations to individuals outside of the categories listed below until the week of March 15th. If individuals sign up with the CCHD for a COVID-19 vaccine appointment and are not part of the categories below, they will be contacted by the CCHD, and their appointment will be cancelled.
Phase 1A includes healthcare workers, long-term care residents, EMS personnel, and mortuary workers. Phase 1B includes fire and police and those 65 and older. There is a limited weekly vaccine supply across the state of Wisconsin. It will take time to vaccinate all that are eligible.
There is not enough vaccine for everyone in all of the eligible groups. Eligible groups within 1B are prioritized by DHS. Some vaccinators are still working through 1A populations, and may have different amounts of eligible availability.
The CCHD has been allotted Moderna vaccines for this week. Appointments are required. Appointments may fill-up fast. If appointment slots are already full, please do not call the CCHD or their local partners. The CCHD is not able to keep waiting lists at this time.
Once appointments are full, there will not be any more available appointments until the next press release from the CCHD. Press releases will typically occur Friday afternoons around 2:00pm. Those who sign up for an appointment are not guaranteed a dose if they do not meet the eligibility criteria.
Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to your appointment time for safety and traffic concerns. Sign up for 1 quantity per person that would like to receive the vaccine. For example, if there is a husband and wife coming to the clinic together, sign up for a QTY of 2.
Please sign up for a time slot by 4:00pm on the day prior to the drive-through clinic. Those who do not sign up by 4:00pm are not guaranteed a vaccine. Please provide proof of eligibility (driver’s license, proof of employment, recent paystub, name badge, etc.).
Second doses are guaranteed to those who received their first dose. Sign up for appointments here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/3-4-21-clarkcountydrivethroughclinic.
As a reminder, those who are planning on receiving their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccination must receive it from the same manufacturer. Those who receive the Moderna vaccine must wait 28 days from their first vaccination before receiving a second dose, and those who receive the Pfizer vaccine must wait at least 21 days.
Please follow the instructions listed online which includes 4 simple steps including review, complete, and print (if able) the fillable COVID-19 Vaccine Administration Record. (Please consult with your medical provider if needed prior to receiving the vaccine for any questions you may have).
Second, review the Moderna Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) Fact Sheet for Recipients. Third, review V-Safe Information Handout. Finally, review FAQ About COVID-19 Vaccination: What Vaccine Recipients Need to Know After Dose 1 or FAQ About COVID-19 Vaccination: What Vaccine Recipients Need to Know After Dose 2.
Please bring the following items with you to the vaccination clinic including proof of eligibility, completed COVID-19 Vaccine Administration Record, and, for 2nd Dose Individuals, Vaccination Record Card (Hard Copy).
Please wear clothing that will easily allow the RN’s to administer the vaccine (t-shirt or a long sleeve that can be easily rolled to the upper arm to gain access to the deltoid muscle). You will be required to wait in your vehicle for 15 minutes post-vaccination for monitoring purposes.
EMS will be on-site and assisting with the monitoring. Expect a potential wait time. They thank you in advance for your patience. The CCHD may have limited availability at future drive through clinics due to a combination of 2nd dose administration appointments, staffing capacity, and allotted supply of vaccine.
Eligible individuals should watch for future press releases regarding new appointment availability. Those who do not have access to the internet may call the CCHD vaccine appointment line at 715-743-5105, select option 9, then select option 9 again starting Friday afternoons at 2pm.
High call volumes are expected. Calling and leaving a message does not guarantee you an appointment. The CCHD encourages those who don’t have access to the internet to have a family member or friend monitor online resources.
For those who would like to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, the CCHD strongly encourages individuals to reach out to their primary healthcare provider or local pharmacy. For updates on future clinics, eligibility, and other vaccination options, please visit the Clark County vaccine website.
