13 Insurance Companies Cleared for Use Under Federal Health Care Law

-Thirteen insurance companies have cleared review by Wisconsin's insurance commissioner's office to sell plans to individuals through the new market places created under the federal health care law.Those companies are Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative, Compcare Health Services Insurance Corporation, Dean Health Plan, Inc., Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin, Gundersen Health Plan, Inc., Health Tradition Health Plan, Medical Health Plans of Wisconsin, MercyCare HMO, Inc., Molina Healthcare of Wisconsin, Inc., Physicians Plus Insurance Corporation, Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc., Unity Health Plans Insurance Corp., WPS Health Plan, Inc.
The companies must get federal approval and sign a contract before being made available on the exchange, which has to be open for applications in October.
