-Several resolutions were passed at the Clark County Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday of last week. The first resolution passed was rescinding Clark County?s Ordinance that county workers must live in Clark County. That was removed now as a new law signed in by Governor Scott Walker during the recent budget process states that county employees don?t need to live within the county to work there.
The next resolution passed asked that several townships, Butler, Forest, Mead, Seif, Hewett, Mentor, Dewhurst, Levis, Washburn, and Sherwood, be removed from county zoning so they can be allowed to do their own ordinances, zoning and other items.
The next ordinance passed was rescinding Clark County?s firearms ordinance. Clark County?s old ordinance was more restrictive than the current Wisconsin statues. With the old ordinance rescinded the county will simply rely on state statues to regulate the possession of firearms.
Another resolution passed was the wage increase for non-represented law enforcement reserve employees. The increase was 1%. However, this was one resolution that didn?t pass by as wide a margin as the rest did. Of the 26 present at the meeting, 17 voted yes and 7 voted no.
