La Crosse Man Sentenced for the Death of a Loyal Woman

-A La Crosse man has been sentenced for causing the death of a Loyal woman over a year ago.In February of 2012, Paige Delo, age 22 of Loyal, was killed when the vehicle, driven by Tyler Deal age 22 of La Crosse, spun out of control and hit a utility pole on the passenger side south of Spencer. Delo died at the scene and Deal had to be treated for severe injuries.
Drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle after the accident and it was discovered that Deal was intoxicated as well. Initially, Deal only had two misdemeanor drug charges filed against him, but in August of last year, the prosecutors added the felony homicide charges.
Deal entered a guilty plea to one of the four felony charges and two misdemeanor charges filed against him and that was homicide by use of a vehicle with a prohibited alcohol content.
Deal was sentenced to five years in prison and he will be on nine years of extended supervision after that. The Marathon County Judge also ordered that Deal participate in victim impact panels and tell his story at least two times a year for nine years.
Deal did apologize for what happened that day during the sentencing.
