-With the Clark County Fair scheduled to begin in just a couple weeks, Clark County will soon have a new Fairest of the Fair. This past year?s Fairest of the Fair court included Staci Suda of Greenwood as Fairest of the Fair, Julia Schmelzer of Owen-Withee as 1st Attendant and Miranda Czubakowski of Thorp as 2nd Attendant.
Staci Suda said she had a wonderful time during her reign as the 2012-2013 Fairest of the Fair.
"My year as Fairest of the Fair has been an extremely good experience. I went to many parades. I went to queen coronations and there are 7 girls running for Fairest of the Fair this year and many of them I talked into running. I went to the state competition in January and I met all the Fairest of the Fair for each Wisconsin County and they had the same interests as me."
Staci said she strongly encourages this year?s contestants to get involved with everything you can.
"Do everything you possibly can. Now that my time is coming to an end, I wish I would have done other things I didn't do."
Finally, Staci said her departure as Fairest of the Fair is rather bitter-sweet.
"I'm sad that it's coming to an end because it was such a great experience and the girls that were on my court were very, very good and we'll be life-long friends. But, I'm excited to see what the new girls can do."
The Fairest of the Fair coronation will have a birthday theme this year as the Clark County Fair is celebrating its 140th birthday. Also, Clark County is celebrating its 160th birthday making the fair and coronation extra special.
