Marshfield Murder Suspects Sentencing Delayed

-A Marshfield man accused of murder has had his sentencing delayed.Gabriel Campos is accused of murdering Maisie McCullough, his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, back in the Fall of 2012. McCullough had been stabbed and her throat slit. After changing his plea several times, Campos entered a guilty plea to that crime at the end of May.
It was also discovered later that Campos had attempted to hire an inmate to kill the man McCullough was dating after they broke up. Campos had been charged with another homicide. That charge was dismissed, but can be taken into consideration when he is sentenced for McCullough?s death.
During the court appearance earlier this month, Campos withdrew his guilty plea on the grounds of ineffective counsel and fired his public defenders saying ?they do not have my best interest at heart. Campos has already been signed a new attorney.
During a motion hearing on Monday, Campos? attorney motioned to have his sentencing delayed. The prosecutors didn?t object to it. As of now, Campos has a status conference scheduled for the end of August.
