-A Medford girl accused of lying to officials about a bomb threat at the Medford School District is currently being held in Iron County on a warrant. The 17-year-old allegedly lied to school officials back in February saying she had overheard a bomb threat in the girls? bathroom at the district resulting in over 70% of the student body being absent from school. She later had charges filed against her for the incident.
The girl was supposed to appear in court for a sentencing hearing on Monday of last week, but failed to show up, this being the second time that?s happened.
The teenager was given a day to get incontact with the Taylor County Court, but failed to do so and a bench warrant was issued.
The Taylor County Sherrif?s Department received an e-mail on Friday of last week that the student was picked up for a warrant in Iron County and is being held on Taylor County?s warrant as well.
