Free Movie Night to Continue in Owen

-Several items were discussed during the Owen City Council Meeting on Tuesday.Gary Smith, Director of Public Works for Owen, reported that the Victory Medical Clinic building requested to have blacktop laid all the way to the first driveway. He also said the sweeper is working great for Owen and Withee.
Owen will also be able to continue their ?Free Movie Night.? Tim Swiggum has had discussion with Bob Houts, District Administrator of the OW School District. The School District will purchase the movie license therefore allowing ?Free Movie Night? to continue at the Old School on Thursday nights. Contributions will be coming in from the House of Friends and possibly the Owen Jr. Fair Board to pay towards the license fee.
The Canadian National Railroad has accepted the additional terms of the railroad proposal that were established by the City Council. The council approved the Proposal from the Railroad, but one individual did vote no.
CDA Director Tim Swiggum reported that he has had continuing conversations with Jim Louks as well as Dave Konwinski. Both are looking to bring their planners to the area soon. There was no further word from the Family Dollar project. They were last working on getting the seller?s agreement signed.
