Beer Consumption In Wisconsin Ranks 5th Nationwide

The Beer Institute came out with its 2012 state consumption rankings today, putting Wisconsin at No. 5 in per capita consumption by persons 21 years old or older.The numbers equal 36.2 gallons of beer for each person, or roughly 385 12-ounce beers for the year.
North Dakota was No. 1, followed by New Hampshire, Montana and South Dakota. The national consumption average was 28.2 gallons.
Wisconsin topped the other Midwestern states, with Illinois at 29.1 gallons, Indiana at 25.9 gallons, Ohio at 30.1 gallons, Minnesota at 28.5 gallons and Michigan at 26.8 gallons. Iowa was the only other regional state to crack the top 20, coming in at No. 13 for its 33.6 gallon consumption average.
