Community Development Block Grants

-The Department of Administration Division of Housing announces that it is awarding $15 million in Community Development Block Grants for regional housing needs.These grants provide resources across Wisconsin to address affordable housing and community development.
?These grants will help families across Wisconsin purchase affordable housing and make needed home improvements? said DOA Secretary Mike Huebsch. ?Communities will also be able to use the grants to make improvements in their communities.?
The grants help provide home buyer assistance, such as down-payment and eligible closing costs, funding to make housing accessibility improvements, including wheelchair ramps and wider doorways and more.
Funding for these competitive biannual awards is provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Chippewa County received $2,184,000 in grants and that money will help serve our area as well.
