Clark County Board of Supervisors Hears 2012 Forestry and Parks Department Annual Report

-The Clark County Board of Supervisors heard the 2012 annual report from the Forestry and Parks Department at their meeting last week.Timber sales were up by a large amount for 2012. The annual allowable harvest increased to 2,784 acres. Part of the increase was due to the need to catch-up on overdue oak and red pine thinnings. The total gross in wood product revenues received was $2,506,755.
Also, due to the amount of harvest that year, it was calculated that 1,776 jobs were created for 2012.
The report also highlighted reforestation, forest protection form invasive species and diseases and prescribed burns.
The report also mentioned the fairgrounds expenditures and revenues for the past three years, the increased revenue from area campgrounds, the improvements at Bruce Mound and the Clark County Trail systems.
