-The Neillsville School Board discussed results from the 10th grade PLAN test at their recent meeting. The PLAN test helps students build a solid foundation for future academic and career success and provides information needed to address school district?s high-priority issues. Also, it is a comprehensive guidance resource that helps students measure their current academic development, explore career and/or training options, and make plans for the remaining years of high school and beyond.
The scores revealed some interesting information.
85% of Neillsville students scored above the English benchmark of College Readiness. The national percentile is 66%. This benchmark that is used in these scores was determined by the ACT and if a student is above that benchmark it means they will likely be ready for their first-year of college.
The scores also showed that 25% of students are above the Science benchmark with 22% being the national percentile. 31% of students are above the Math benchmark with the national average at 39% and 49% of students are above the Reading benchmark with 50% the national average.
