Woman Sentenced for High Speed Chase in Jackson County

A woman arrested after a high speed chase in Jackson County was sentenced in Jackson County Court on Monday.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, back in late February of 2020, a vehicle failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 108 and Highway 71. When deputies tried to stop them, the vehicle fled, reaching speeds of 110mph.
The pursuit stopped after spike strips were used. Davidde Hundt of La Crosse and Stacy Wateski from Onalaska were both arrested. Back in September, Wateski was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, resisting or obstructing an officer.
Two other charges were dismissed and read in and a third had a deferred prosecution/sentence. She was sentenced to one year of probation.
Back in July of last year, Hundt was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, vehicle operator fleeing an officer. Several other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 3 years of probation with a condition of one year jail time.
