Wednesday, April 17th, 2013 -- 9:50 AM
-There were some surprising results from the 2013 Clark County DNR Spring Hearing and Conservation Congress held last week Monday.Taking a look at results statewide first, there were only a handful of initiatives that people wouldn?t support.
Allowing trolling statewide, allowing unattended blinds or stands on DNR owned/managed land overnight, expanding the use of crossbows in a separate season or during regular archery season, removing back tag requirements, having non-motorized boat registration, allowing 14 and 15 year olds in a youth hunt without a mentor and allowing 16 and 17 year olds to participate in a youth hunt were not approved of statewide.
Clark County was not in favor of a regulation that would only allow six dogs to be used in wolf hunting. Clark County also voted against a separate archery season for crossbows and prohibiting the use of dogs in hunting wolves.
Finally, the county was against dog training in Bear Zone C, against allowing 14 and 15 year olds to participate in a youth hunt without a mentor, but against allowing 16 and 17 year olds to participate in a youth hunt. The county was also against non-motorized boat registration.
