2013 Clark County DNR Spring Hearing and Conservation Congress, Part 5
Monday, April 15th, 2013 -- 7:37 AM
-Several citizen resolutions were brought up for approval at the 2013 Clark County DNR Spring Hearing and Conservation Congress on Monday. These resolutions are written by Clark County citizens to address an issue here in the county.
One resolution brought up regard splitting Area 58 for deer hunting. Many residents and hunters in that area are appalled by the decrease in the deer population in Area 58.
The resolution suggested splitting the area into Area 58a and 58b. In one area, hunters could only shoot a buck and in the other, hunters could shoot a buck and then have a limited number of antlerless tags given out until the heard recovers.
The final resolution brought up, included allowing an early bear hunting season in Zone C. The thought process being that there are more bear in that area and the predation has increased on the deer because of it.
The resolution stated that there wouldn?t be any negative impact and it would offer better control.
