April is national Distracted Driver Awareness Month and transportation safety officials are urging all drivers to eliminate distractions and focus their full attention on driving.Talking on a cell phone, eating or combing your hair. They?re things we do virtually every day. But doing them while driving a motor vehicle can be deadly.
In Wisconsin, texting while driving is illegal for all drivers. A law that took effect last fall prohibits novice drivers with an instruction permit or probationary license from using any type of wireless phone while driving except to report an emergency.
While phone use is increasingly prevalent, any activity that takes a driver?s attention away from the road is potentially illegal and deadly.
