Medford Man Makes Initial Appearance for Stealing Credit Card Information

-A Medford man accused of stealing credit card information from customers made an initial appearance in Taylor County Court on Tuesday.Nicholas Johnson, age 20, is charged with nine counts of fraudulently using a credit card for various amounts of money and almost 60 counts of using misappropriate ID information to obtain money.
The incident allegedly happened while Johnson worked at the AmericInn hotel in Medford late last year. Johnson allegedly used customer credit card numbers to pay tuition and insurance bills.
During the initial appearance, the reading of the complaint was waived as well as a preliminary hearing. It was decided that the case is bound over for trial.
Johnson will appear in court again at the end of May. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum sentence of more than 400 years in prison.
