Greenwood School Board Makes Changes to 2013-2014 Calendar
Friday, March 29th, 2013 -- 8:37 AM
-The Greenwood School Board made some changes to their 2013-2014 school calendar at their Monday meeting. The calendar consists of 190 teacher contracted work days. The determination of the structure of the days, as in instructional, in-service, workdays, etc., is up to the discretion of the Board.
The teacher contracted work days are broken down as follows: 180 student days, from 2.5 to 4 in-service days which includes one mandatory new teacher orientation in-service day at the beginning of the school year, from 4 to 2.5 record days with the possible use of part of the record days to be used for in-service, 1.5 parent conference days and finally 2 paid holidays.
The first change from the typical calendar Greenwood uses is in the amount of in-service days.
The switch allows Greenwood to have two large in-service days with four other school districts. The other schools joining Greenwood for these large in-service days will be Neillsville, Granton, Thorp and Loyal.
The second change is in the amount of records days/in-service days. Teachers will have a one half day to complete grades for the first, third and fourth quarters. Second quarter is scheduled to be a full day for grades.
The board approved the 2013-2014 calendar.
