Jackson County Sheriff's Deputy Awarded for K-9 Work

-A Jackson County Sheriff?s Deputy has been awarded for his K-9 work.Jackson County Sheriff?s K-9 Handler, Deputy Nick Gray, was nominated for an award with the United States Police Canine Association.
This came about after the Wisconsin State Patrol request assistance from the Black River Falls K-9 Unit during a traffic stop last November. During the stop, Deputy Gray and his K-9 Ice were able to locate methamphetamine, marijuana, and a loaded .22 caliber handgun in the vehicle. The vehicle was occupied by two convicted felons.
After Deputy Gray was nominated, he was awarded the ?K-9 Deputy of the Quarter? in Region 18, which encompasses Wisconsin, Minnesota, and part of North Dakota.
Upon receipt of the award, Sheriff Duane Waldera commended Deputy Gray for his K-9 work with the Department and for the citizens of Jackson County. "Deputy Gray has worked hard over the years with the K-9 program. I am certainly very proud of his accomplishments as well as those by his K-9 partner "Ice."
In a recent interview, Deputy Gray related, "There are only four such awards presented to recipients by the United States Police Canine Association per region each year." Gray explained. "I cannot tell you how proud I am of the award, my K-9 "Ice" and the men and women from the Sheriff's Office that helped in making this happen.?
