Friday, March 22nd, 2013 -- 8:08 AM
-The Neillsville School Board approved a pay increase for the district?s sub bus drivers.Dale Erickson, Transportation Supervisor of Neillsville, presented the board with information regarding sub bus drivers.
Dale said that Neillsville pays their subs a considerably lower amount compared to other area districts. He also mentioned that in the past 12 years, sub drivers have only received a .40 cent increase in wages while the regular drivers have received a $2.50 increase.
Dale mentioned how difficult it is to find regular sub drivers, how they must always be on task, and how they are asked to do the same work as the regular drivers.
The purpose of the increase for the sub drivers is to keep the excellent drivers the district has and to attract others to be sub drivers.
In the end, the board did approve to increase the sub pay to the same amount as the regular driver?s pay of $11.76 per hour.
