Red Cross Holds 2013 Real Heroes Event

-The American Red Cross held its 2013 Real Heroes event at the Marshfield Clinic on Thursday afternoon.Nine individuals from Clark, Taylor, and Wood counties, plus a local business, were honored at the event.
Josh Calaway, Jim Knutson, and John Losiezski, all from Pittsville, received the Good Samaritan Hero awards for rescuing a 3-year-old boy from a burning vehicle back in June.
Dr. Patrick Sullivan, a Marshfield Clinic anesthesiologist and Army Reserve Colonel, received a Health Care Hero award. Dr. Sullivan saved every wounded soldier he treated in Iraq in 2007.
Audrey Horvath of Marshfield was named the Youth Hero for organizing children to gather school supplies for Bosnian children.
Casper Altmann of Stratford, Robert Radtke of Marshfield, and John Thiesenhusen of Nekoosa were named the American Red Cross Heroes for donation more than 25 gallons of blood in their lifetime.
Finally, BMO Harris Bank of Marshfield was awarded the 2013 Corporate Hero for the many community service events they are involved with.
