Granton School Board Meeting Held Monday

A CESA 10 presentation, youth options, and more were discussed at the Granton School Board Meeting on Monday.John Goodman, a CESA 10 technology consultant, presented information, new educational technology and ways that it is being used in the classroom to the Granton Board. The board and Mr. Goodman reviewed how the 1 to 1 initiative is being practiced in other school districts. The 1 to 1 initiative is designed to put a computing device into the hands of every student.
The board accepted the resignation from Troy Kuehn as boys? varsity track coach and they expressed their gratitude and thanked Troy for his years of service and dedication to Granton athletics. They also approved the coaching contract for Kalina Gauvin and Adam Holberg. The pair will act as co-coaches for track.
The school board approved Youth Options requests for 2013-2014 from 11 students and they approved administrative procedure for Early Graduation. The new procedure will go into effect during the 2013-2014 school year.
Finally, they approved the first reading of the ?School Year Policy?, Chapter 9 ? Section A with several suggested changes, reviewed lay-off procedures and timelines and they reviewed and discussed the preliminary budget.
