Colby Teacher Under Investigation Reinstated

-A Colby teacher who was under investigation for alleged sexual assault has been reinstated.In mid-February the Colby School Board put a staff member on paid administrative leave after the Marshfield Police Department began checking into allegations of inappropriate contact between the teacher and a student.
The Marshfield Police Department and the Colby School District was investigating a matter that involved an offense that occurred outside the state of Wisconsin with a 17-year-old. A second allegation made said that the staff member touched an 18-year-old male.
In both cases, it was determined that the statute of limitations had lapsed so the investigations were abandoned and no charges will be pursued.
In a closed meeting on Wednesday, the board reinstated the teacher and he will not be named as no criminal charges will be filed.
