UPDATE: Blood Drive in Neillsville Today
Monday, March 4th, 2013 -- 9:40 AM
-Blood donors are everyday heroes who help save lives.During March, Red Cross Month, the American Red Cross recognizes these lifesavers, thanks them for their generosity and encourages others to join their ranks.
March was first proclaimed Red Cross Month in 1943 by former President Franklin Roosevelt.
Since then, every president, including President Barack Obama, has designated March as Red Cross Month. The Red Cross has been helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies for more than 130 years.
There are some local opportunities for you to donate blood. There will be a blood drive here in Neillsville at the American Legion from 11am to 6pm today. The Red Cross Blood Drive at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen on Tuesday March, 5th has been cancelled due to the winter storm moving into the area.
This increases the urgency of donations needed. The Red Cross asks that if you are able to donate at the Blood Drive at the American Legion here in Neillsville today, please do so.
The Red Cross appreciates all donors!
Looking into next week, they?ll be at the Greenwood High School on Tuesday, March 12th from 9am to 2pm. Finally, they?ll be in Granton at the Granton High School on Wednesday, March 13th from 12pm to 5pm.
